Kim Insuk, novelist, was born and works in South Korea. She has published over ten novels and short story collections in Korea, and many were translated into English, Japanese, and Chinese. “Long Road” was published in the U.S. “Waiting for the Brass Band” was published in China. “Sea and butterfly” was published in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Mongolia. In 1993 Insuk resided in Australia for one and a half years, and she lived in China for three and a half years in the early 2000s. A critic wrote, “ From the beginning of her writing career she has persistently produced works that deal with the problems of the present time and that offer introspection into the human existence, without losing sight of the currents of changes in realty.” She is now working on a novel about memory and secrets.
