Kama Sokolnicka is a Polish visual artist born in Wroclaw. She uses a wide range of techniques, her works vary in form from metaphoric transformation of chosen space to concrete. Sokolnicka has participated in many solo and group exhibitions, her works were presented on Liverpool Biennial, in Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, FRAC Alsace, Waterside Project Space in London, Beit Ha’ir in Tel Aviv, Luleå Art Biennial LAB09 in Sweden, Bata Institut in Zlin (CZ), Zachęta National Gallery in Warsaw, Museum of Modern Art and CCA Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Contemporary Museum Wrocław. She has also taken part in artist-in-residence programmes at Art OMI in New York (2013), La Malterie in Lille (FR, 2013) or CE AAC in Strasbourg (2004). She obtained a scholarship from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2011 and received awards from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute Fellowship & the Polish Cultural Institute New York (2013).
