Helen Mirra presently maintains a rhythm of working in a sustained relation to walking. The work is usually visual, and is sometimes quadraphonic sound recordings made in collaboration with Ernst Karel. Mirra has had solo exhibitions at the Berkeley Art Museum, the Whitney Museum of Contemporary Art, Kunst-Werke Berlin, and Haus Konstruktiv Zürich, and participated in the 50th Venice Biennial, the 30th Sao Paulo Bienal, and the 2015 Havana Bienal. Public projects include Farbenweg, indirekter, architecturally embedded among the houses of the Universalmuseum Joanneum in Graz, Austria, Instance the Determination at the University of Chicago, and an Art-in-Architecture project at the Minnesota–Canada border. A fifteen-year survey of her work was presented at Culturgest, in Lisbon, in 2014.
