Adrianne Harun is an American writer, teacher, and editor whose stories, essays, and reviews have been published widely. She is the author of a story collection, The King of Limbo (Houghton Mifflin Mariner), a Sewanee Writers' Series selection and a Washington State Book Award finalist. Her novel, A Man Came Out of a Door in the Mountain (Viking Penguin), is set in British Columbia, Canada along the infamous Highway of Tears, an isolated area in which many girls and women have disappeared or been found murdered over the past four decades, nearly all of them Aboriginal. The novel won the 2015 Pinckley Award for Crime Fiction and has also been shortlisted for both the Pacific Northwest Bookseller's Award and the Washington State Book Award. Stories from an upcoming collection have been listed as Notable in both Best American Short Stories and Best American Mystery Stories. Adrianne lives in Port Townsend, Washington.
